COURSE TIMING

The Quarryman Challenge 10 Mile & 5K will be electronically timed using the new, innovative Ipico Sports timing tag (http://www.ipicosports.com/). This new timing system has been used in the Bolder Boulder, the largest road race in America and the highly competitive Steamboat Classic in Peoria, Illinois Timing will include electronic start / finish times. The 10 mile event also includes an electronically timed 5 mile split time, which will be provided to all racers as part of the results.

Please note that even though the races are electronically timed, per USATF rules, awards will be given based on gun time Rule 245, Item # 3 in the USATF handbook states: "The official time shall be the time elapsed between the start of the watches or timing devices resulting from an appropriate start signal and the athlete reaching the finish line. However, the actual time elapsed between an athlete reaching the starting line and finish line can be made known to the athlete, but will not be considered as official time." (Source: http://www.usatf.org)

All racers will be given both their electronic time and their gun time.
